One two-month journey circling Australia is being halted days after the tragic passing of an elderly female passenger who was abandoned by the ship on a isolated island.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the vessel, but parted ways from the group for a rest. The vessel left without her and returned after some time after the crew discovered the woman was unaccounted for.

A large-scale search operation located her body the following day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the tragedy, alongside investigators and the official investigator.

The CEO of the shipping company stated that passengers and staff on the ship were informed that the continuation of the voyage had been terminated due to the "sad loss and previous technical problems".
