Toy Story 5 Trailer Sets The Beloved Duo Against a Tablet Computer
It has been 30 years since the first Toy Story film debuted, launching the animation giant as a leading film company and bringing viewers to iconic characters like Woody (the actor) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now household names.
In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed recently, offering a brief look into the storyline but keeping viewers curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Gang
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who received the toy collection when he grew up — getting a latest toy, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie acquires her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer avoids is why the sheriff is returned with his friends in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (the actress), journeying with a carnival and helping giveaway items locate loving owners.
Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, though. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have returned with Woody. And where is the stuntman toy (the star)?
Connections from the Previous Film
Fortunately, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. The clip displays the badge pinned to her shirt.
Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys.
